Friday, May 9 forecast: We can see clearly now, the rain is gone!

Spotty showers yesterday may have led some to take cover, but otherwise it was a pretty nice day. Skies will be clear of any rain today and we'll see a mix of sun and clouds through the day. Temperatures are comfortably cool this morning and will be mild in the low 70s with a light northeast breeze this afternoon.

The weekend looks just as nice with mostly clear skies and dry weather. Chilly mornings will give way to pleasantly warm afternoons. All in all, it's about as nice a Mother's Day Weekend as you could hope for.

A reborn form of this week's shower maker will visit us early next week, slinging clouds and a risk of showers our way Monday.

Warm and mostly dry weather will follow on Tuesday through Thursday. Temperatures will climb to early summer levels by Wednesday and Thursday, and will likely be the warmest temperatures of the year so far.

The warmth may pave the way to a more active pattern as we close out the week. The overall look of the pattern hints at episodes of thunderstorm activity, possibly severe, through the following weekend.
