CAMDENTON, Mo. — Camden County Sheriff Chris Edgar confirmed the arrest of 39-year-old Matthew Taylor, a suspect in a burglary investigation that began in the Macks Creek area two weeks ago.

On July 3, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) asked the public for help locating Taylor for questioning in a burglary investigation.
After two weeks of following leads and interviewing prospective witnesses, detectives were able to narrow down the search area to a rural part of eastern Laclede County in the 38,000 block of Fairview Road, according to a news release.
The release says that on July 18, detectives responded with deputies from the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) to the area and took Taylor into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Taylor was transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility. He is charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and armed criminal action. He is being held without bond.
Sheriff Edgar said the CCSO is grateful to Laclede County Sheriff Matt Frederick and the men and women of the LCSO for their assistance with the investigation.
“Interagency cooperation continues to help us and our neighbors round up criminals in our communities,” Sheriff Edgar said in the release.
