Saturday, May 10th Forecast: Sunny and 70 stays for Mother's Day. Rain on the way

It sure will be hard to complain about the weather today. I say it all the time, my ideal forecast is sunny and 70. That's what we were blessed with for Friday. It's what we will be blessed with for this Mother's Day weekend.

Going to be a sunny Saturday with just a handful of high clouds thrown into the mix. Temperatures for everyone should easily climb into the low 70s with warmer temperatures to the south.
Mother's Day has the potential to be warmer as highs will flirt closer to the 80s, but we will manage to come up short. Additionally, there will be noticeably more clouds in the sky for Sunday, but rain will hold off here in Springfield.
There's a slight chance of rain occurring in Northern Arkansas and South Central Missouri Sunday evening. Totals will be rather light and mostly hit or miss. I wouldn't let it ruin any Mother's Day plans you have put into place.
Rainfall chances should pick up on Monday thanks to a low-pressure system sliding to our south. Scattered showers will take place. You may hear a rumble of thunder, but severe weather holds off until it returns to end the week.

After Monday's rain, a summer feel pumps into the Ozarks. In the middle of next week, we will be fighting through both heat and humidity as I am expecting us to experience the warmest temperatures we have felt so far in 2025.
