OZARK COUNTY, Mo. -- A 16-year-old has died following a crash between two vehicles near Gainesville, Missouri on Tuesday, Dec. 3, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
The crash report states that at around 7:10 p.m., the 16-year-old from Tecumseh was driving a 2010 Pontiac west at an intersection on U.S. Highway 5, ten miles northwest of Gainesville without stopping at a stop sign. The Pontiac then went into the path of a southbound 2014 Ford F-150, causing both vehicles to crash into each other and travel off the southeast side of the intersection before coming to a stop.
The 16-year-old driver of the Pontiac was pronounced dead by the Ozark County Coroner. The driver of the Ford F-150 was taken by a private vehicle to an unknown hospital with minor injuries.
This is the 24th fatality for MSHP Troop G in 2024.
