Aurora Police urge residents to ensure house numbers are clearly visible

AURORA, Mo. — The Aurora-Marionville Police Department is asking the residents to make sure their house numbers are clearly visible.
"In an emergency, seconds matter. When police, fire, or EMS respond to your home at night, the first thing we look for is your house number," said a post from the Aurora and Marionville Police Department. "Clearly posted, above eye level, near the front door, and not hidden by trees or bushes."
The department recommends:
- Make sure your house number is large, reflective, and easy to read from the street.
- Place it near your front door or above eye level where it’s most visible to responders.
- Trim back any trees, shrubs, or decorations that might block it.
