NOEL, Mo. — Prosecutors have dropped charges in a deadly hit-and-run crash in McDonald County.
Right before Thanksgiving, the McDonald County Prosecutor's Office dropped "leaving the scene of a deadly crash" charges against Gloria Trejo, 53.
No reason was given, but prosecutors say the investigation is ongoing, and charges could be refiled in the future.
The investigation surrounds an incident on November 2, when authorities found the body of Michael Pruden near the intersection of South Kings Highway and Hall Ridge Road on the outskirts of Noel.

Woman arrested in McDonald County fatal hit and run
NOEL, Mo. — McDonald County authorities make an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run crash earlier this month.
They arrested Gloria Trejo, 53, of Noel, on Tuesday (11/19) and charged her with leaving the scene of a fatality crash.
The Noel Marshal's Office responded to the intersection of South Kings Highway and Hall Ridge Road on the outskirts of Noel on November 2. That's where they found Michael Pruden's lifeless body.

According to court records, officers found a piece of lens near the crash site. They said they were able to locate a serial number from the lens, identifying the vehicle as a 1992 Ford F-150.
Investigators say Trejo admitted to hitting something in the road, and when she went back to see what it was, she saw it was a person.
The probable cause affidavit says Trejo told investigators she, "got scared and left." She's being held on a $2,000 cash only bond.
