Christian Co. Sheriff says multiple scam calls reported

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. — Multiple people have received a scam call claiming a warrant has been issued for the recipient's arrest, according to the Christian County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).

CCSO says the scam caller tells people they failed to appear for a Grand Jury Hearing (Subpeona) which was allegedly sent by mail.

Sheriff Brad Cole advises the following:

  • If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from the Sheriff's office or any law enforcement agency, do not take it at face value.
  • Contact the Christian County Sheriff’s Office directly at 417-582-5330 to verify the authenticity of the call.
  • Never send money, gift cards, or any form of payment to someone over the phone.
