Connecticut K-9 captures wanted fugitive working in Somers

SOMERS, Conn. (WWLP) - A man from New Jersey who had multiple active felony arrest warrants was arrested in Somers, Connecticut, with the help of a state trooper's K-9.
In a news release by the Connecticut State Police, at around 3 p.m. on Monday, the police department in Clinton requested assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident the day before. The suspect, 41-year-old Alfred Ricciuti of Washington, New Jersey, also had five extraditable arrest warrants and was believed to be working at a business in Somers.
During surveillance, Troopers found Ricciuti at around 4:53 p.m. leaving the business and attempted to take him into custody. He refused to comply, and after multiple warnings, K-9 Viper was deployed and he was apprehended.
Ricciuti was taken to a hospital for minor injuries and was processed as a Fugitive from Justice and for Interfering/Resisting and held on a $550,000 cash surety bond. During his arraignment on Tuesday at Rockville Superior Court, his bond was reduced to $250,000.
