Local restaurants prepare for Mother's Day rush

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Mother's Day is Sunday, and many families will be spending the special day with mom dining at local restaurants.

22News spoke with the co-owner of the Delaney house and log cabin, as both popular restaurants prepare for Mother's Day this weekend.

They tell us that the deadline for the holidays' to-go meals has passed, and while reservations are filling up fast---it never hurts to try and still book--- which you can do right on their website. We also asked how inflation and tariffs have impacted the price to put on these functions this year.

Delaney House Owner Mick Corduff told 22News, "It's super hard for us. We are very conscious of pricing for our customer base. But to maintain their quality and maintain the level, it's had to creep up over the years. But we still want to make sure we are delivering a quality product."

According to the National Retail Federation, consumer spending on Mother's Day this year is expected to beat last year's total at $34.1 billion, and $6.3 billion will be spent on special outings.
