SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Bleachers were packed at Plaster Stadium on Saturday as thousands came together to cheer on the Missouri State University football team.
The crowd at MSU's first home opener as part of Conference USA was close to record-setting.
15,027 people attended the game against Southern Methodist University on Saturday.
Students, alumni and fans said they were happy to see so many people show up to support the Bears.
“Usually, nobody goes into the games," said student Nick Thompson. "This game, everybody is going.”
The record? 18,386 in the 2014 home opener against North Dakota.
