MISSOURI - A man convicted of first-degree murder and sexual abuse of a nine-year-old girl has died in prison, according to a spokesperson from the Southeast Correctional Center in Missouri.
Earl Cox was sentenced to life without parole in 2020 over the death of Angie Houseman in 1993. A plea deal spared him from the death penalty.
Houseman was kidnapped from her school bus stop in St. Ann, Missouri, in 1993. Her body was found nine days later at the Busch Wildlife Area.
In court, Cox would only say that Houseman got into his car and did not elaborate further.
During his guilty plea, the judge said not even a parent's worst nightmare could imagine what Cox did to Houseman.
