Chrystal Dawn Fanning, 42, was indicted for possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a substance containing fentanyl.

In a press release, BCSO says they collaborated with the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team (ODET) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on an investigation spanning several months into the distribution of fentanyl in Barry County.

After the investigation, the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped Fanning and Jared Dodge of Eagle Rock, Missouri, on Sept. 21, 2024, and discovered a large number of fentanyl pills, which were later found to weigh around 636.3 grams in total. BCSO says Fanning admitted to investigators that she was picking up fentanyl out of state and she supplied fentanyl in Barry County for a significant amount of time.

Fanning and Dodge were charged in Newton County for drug trafficking. BCSO arrested Fanning on Dec. 13, 2024, after her indictment.
