Foul play suspected in 25-year-old case involving missing St. Ann mother

ST. ANN, Mo. - Kendra Young was just eight years old when her mother, Nicole Gray, was reported missing from St. Ann. Tuesday marked the 25th anniversary of the day Gray went missing.
“Before I leave this earth, I want to know what happened to my mother,” said Young.
She said her mother was last seen at the former Northwest Plaza shopping center in St. Ann. Gray was scheduled to attend a Christmas party that day with her children but never arrived at their school.
“I actually remember my life more as a child than I do as an adult,” said Young. She believes the trauma of losing her mother forced her to hold on to the memories she had.
“To know her was to love her,” said Young. “When she was in a room, you knew.”
St. Ann Police are re-examining the case and believe foul play was involved. Anyone with information should contact the department’s detective bureau at 314-427-8000.
Young holds out some hope her mother is still alive but believes the evidence points to someone taking Gray’s life.
“I just want justice,” Young said.
She said her mother was tall, appropriately 5’10”, and typically wore a lot of jewelry.
“She dressed to impress,” said Young.
She hopes anyone who knows what happened to her mother on Dec. 17, 1999, will contact police.
“She was a mother of four,” Young said. “She had nieces, nephews, siblings, and grandchildren.”
