I have good news for your Friday! Temperatures will be warming over the next four days. The bad news is, we have a bitterly cold start for your Friday morning. Temperatures are starting off in the teens across the Ozarks.
Under sunny skies we will warm into the mid-40's for Friday. While we have very dry air at play, winds should be fairly calm for Friday, so a fire danger warning has not been issued. It still isn't a good idea to burn because it is very dry out there.
Fair Grove and Nixa football teams will be playing for the MSHAA State Championship this afternoon. For people heading to Columbia, bundle up! It will be cold, but dry in Columbia at Faurot Field.
Winds will pick up out of the south on Saturday and will help to warm us up into the 50's. A few places across the Ozarks could make it into the 60's. For a December day, 60's don't sound half bad. It'll be great for the many Christmas festivities planned across the area.
Sunday will bring a chance for much-needed rain to the Ozarks. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will be widespread rainfall. The best chance of seeing rain will be to the southeast of Springfield.
Looking ahead, temperatures appear to be on the warm side as we head into the middle of the month.
