ST. LOUIS - Behind a cold front, St. Louis will be windy and cold Friday. Some may even report seeing a snowflake or two early in the morning.
Winds will gust to around 30 mph Friday morning before beginning to ease back during the afternoon. Expect wind chills Friday to be about 10 degrees colder than actual air temperatures. Cloudy skies will clear a bit in the afternoon, with highs in the low 30s.
Partly cloudy and cold Friday night, Saturday wake-up temperatures in the 20s. A cold but quiet weekend with highs in the 30s Saturday and low 40s on Sunday. We keep that gradual warm-up going into Christmas week.
Rain is still looking likely, starting Monday evening and continuing Christmas Eve Tuesday. Well above freezing temps, so all rain. We are still monitoring where the rain might linger into Christmas Day.
Note: The Winter Solstice is Saturday. Only 9 hours and just shy of 28 minutes of daylight on our shortest day of the year.
