JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — A woman will spend nearly a decade in prison for assaulting a police officer.
Yesterday Judge Dean Dankelson sentenced Raven Gomez, 28, to seven years in prison.
Back in September, Gomez pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree assault.
Those charges were from an incident in October 2023 when officers responded to a disturbance call at Pete's Convenience Store in Jasper.
A female officer made contact with Gomez and Brandon David, 48.
That's when Gomez started punching the officer in the face.
The officer says David also punched her several times in the face and tried to steal her patrol vehicle. When that didn't work, they got into another vehicle and ran over the officer's foot twice before fleeing the scene.
David is still charged in Jasper County and isn't scheduled to be back in court until November.
