JOPLIN, Mo. — A Joplin organization is providing a unique way for kids to speak with Santa Claus.
The Joplin Amateur Radio Club is using ham radio—via the "Santa Net"—to connect with the big man.
Kids will be able to speak with Santa and give him their wish list.
"It is a blast. It is a blast. We have a -- we all were talkin' last night after one of the kids was on last night -- how great-a-deal it was for that young man," said Rex Chambers, Joplin Amateur Radio Club President.
The club will be hosting three separate dates for connection: tomorrow evening, December 9, and December 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of our station.
Only 10 slots will be allotted each night, and it’s free of charge.
Club members ask that you schedule an appointment on their website here.
