JOPLIN, Mo. – On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Members of the Col. Travis Hoover Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol will assist in laying wreaths on veteran’s graves as part of the annual Wreaths Across America Day.
The ceremony will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 3700 N Rangeline Road, Webb City MO.
The Cadets and Senior Members of the squadron will assist local Junior ROTC members in placing around 1200 wreaths on veteran’s graves across the cemetery.
The day’s activities are expected to start around 9:30 AM with Patriot Guard Riders escorting a truck delivering the wreaths to the cemetery, and the event will feature an American Legion Honor Guard, and local JROTC members laying wreaths at the Veteran’s Memorial on the north side of the property.
Acting as a Total Force partner and official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, Civil Air Patrol performs missions assigned by First Air Force to rapidly respond in a Defense Support of Civil Authorities capacity to save lives, relieve suffering, prevent property damage, and provide humanitarian assistance.
In addition to its Emergency Services mission, CAP performs Aerospace Education and Cadet Programs as part
of its congressionally mandated charter.
