JOPLIN, Mo. — Solid donation for the Ronald McDonald House in Joplin:
It's $4,800 from Reece Nichols Real Estate. The funding comes from its Gold Key Program, where agents can opt to donate money from the sale of a house. Today's check involved sales in Neosho and Mount Vernon.
It's a project that's very personal for Nina Moser, who stayed there when her first daughter was born.
"I'm so, so grateful that we have this here in our community and that we're able to donate to the cause, and it's able to continue to help families," said Nina Moser, broker and sales manager for Reece Nichols Neosho.
"Our guests, by and large, we say they can stay here for free. But we do ask for a ten-dollar donation just to kind of cover some of the costs. So if you take that number and divide it by ten dollars per room night, that's a lot of families, eating a lot of meals and having a good night's sleep here at the Ronald McDonald House," said Lori Jones, Ronald McDonald House of the Four States executive director.
This is the fourth year Reece Nichols has made a Gold Key donation to the nonprofit.
The program also supports the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield.
