QUAPAW, Okla. — A life-size gingerbread house made its public debut Thursday night (12/5).

Employees at Downstream Casino and Resort pulled back the curtain, revealing the sweet Christmas creation.

It was made by executive pastry chef Rebecca Foy and her staff.

This marks the second year chef Foy and her team built a life-size gingerbread house.

Work on the colossal, candy-coated house began back in September.

Just some of the ingredients used include 80 pounds of butter, 125 pounds of sugar, 300 pounds of flour, and 500 pounds of icing.

"My assistant Pam was the one who did all the hand decorating cookies on the house, she worked about three weeks on it, and when we saw it, we were both almost in tears, because we were like, 'oh my gosh, it's done. We finally did it.' I'm very proud of my team,” said Downstream Casino and Resort Executive Pastry Chef, Rebecca Foy.

The giant gingerbread house is on display in the lobby of Downstream Casino and Resort through the end of December.
