Missouri Sports Hall of Fame names new CEO

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) has named a new CEO and has addressed financial concerns with the Price Cutter Charity Championship (PCCC) golf tournament.

Rob Marsh was chosen for the MSHOF's new CEO. He's a Springfield native who has worked as the Chief Operating Officer of Price Cutter for the past 27 years.

This announcement comes weeks after the previous CEO, Byron Shive, resigned amid financial concerns with the PCCC tournament. Today, Interim CEO Jerald Andrews said there was no wrongdoing with the tournament money.

"They've been audited and re-looked at by accountant after accountant. And it's just, it's a matter of how you decide to spend your money that you have access to," says Andrews.

While over $300,000 was awarded to the charities that benefit from the tournament, MSHOF says $400,000 is still owed to these organizations. There is no timeline on when that money will be given out, but Marsh says it's a high priority.

"I want them to have faith and trust in me and the Hall of Fame and the tournament," says Marsh.

Correcting these large financial issues is no small task, but Marsh explained that his many years of experience with Price Cutter gave him the confidence to solve the problem.

"You've got to watch the pennies, and the dollars will take care of themselves. But I've got to make sure that every dollar that we receive, whether it be sponsorship or donation goes and is very wisely spent," says Marsh.

Susan Miles is the Director of Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, and she says not receiving as much from this year's tournament is difficult for all the charities, but she has faith in the Hall of Fame after being involved with them for over 30 years.

"There is a huge trust, a huge relationship. When you've known people that long, it's going to work one way or the other. Jerald is going to make it work. Rob Marsh is going to make it work. I have every confidence in that," says Miles.

It was also announced that Price Cutter has renewed a contract to continue to be the main sponsor for the tournament for the next five years.
