Mizzou Football to face Iowa Hawkeyes in Music City Bowl matchup
The No. 19 Mizzou Tigers will take on the unranked University of Iowa in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl on December 30 in Nashville, with coverage provided by ESPN and the Tiger Radio Network.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 19 Mizzou Tigers are set to travel to Nashville to take on the unranked University of Iowa in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl.
The bowl game is set to take place on Monday, Dec. 30 at 1:30 p.m. in Nashville's Nissan Stadium. Coverage of the game will be provided by ESPN and the Tiger Radio Network
The matchup between Mizzou (9-3) and Iowa (8-4) is the 14th game in the series history, with the Tigers holding a 7-6 advantage in the previous 13 matchups. This is the first time the two schools have faced off since 2010's Insight Bowl in Tempe, Arizona, in which the Hawkeyes beat the Tigers 27-24.
Mizzou are coming off their 10th nine-win season in school history, reaching the mark in consecutive seasons for the third time. The Tigers will enter their 37th bowl game, holding an overall record of 16-20 in bowl games. Mizzou won their previous bowl game with a 14-3 victory over Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl last season.
Iowa enters the contest winning four of their last five regular-season matchups. The Hawkeyes will be appearing in their 37th bowl game, holding an overall record of 18-17-1 in bowl contests.
The matchup will not include several players, including wide receiver Luther Burden III, who has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft and opted out of playing the bowl game.
