MONETT, Mo. — A Monett man allegedly robbed a bank and fled police before being taken into custody.
According to a press release from the Monett Police Department, around 4:33 p.m. on Dec. 5, officers were dispatched to the United Missouri Bank located at 500 E. Broadway for a reported robbery. The suspect allegedly entered the bank, demanded money, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to the release, when contacted by police, the suspect refused to follow commands and was taken into custody after a brief struggle with no injuries.
No weapons were displayed, and all the stolen money was recovered
Police managed to capture the suspect within six minutes.
The suspect is being held at the Monett Justice Center Jail.
The suspect has been identified but OzarksFirst is waiting on the Barry County Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of charges.
