OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — The Osage Middle School received a phone-in threat prompting police intervention, and evening events were canceled on Thursday, Dec. 19.
According to the Osage Middle School Facebook page, no students or staff were injured and the origin of the threat is still under investigation.
A press release was posted stating:
School of the Osage Community,
Today at 2:58 PM, our middle school received a phoned-in threat to the building. Immediately upon receiving the information we contacted local law enforcement, which prompted heavy police and extra administrative presence throughout the parking lot and building. In conjunction with law enforcement, a safe dismissal took place. Out of an abundance of caution, students were instructed to wait for their rides inside the building. Due to the adjusted dismissal procedure, all district buses were slightly delayed. Additionally, out of an abundance of caution, all School of the Osage home athletics and activities for this evening are canceled.
We are working closely with local law enforcement as they investigate the threat. Updates will be shared as soon as more information becomes available. School of the Osage Middle School Facebook
