Pleasant Plains Clips Sacred Heart Griffin Powered By Lowder’s Complete Game
Sean Lowder pitched a complete game for the win, striking out the side in the seventh to give Pleasant Plains a 2-1 win over Sacred Heart Griffin on Monday. The 2A seedings come out on Tuesday according to the IHSA website and both these teams will be at the top of the 2A Plains sectional seeds. Andrew Potthoff singled in a run for Plains in the second and Trager Shultz brought in the game winner in the bottom of the sixth after a Charlie Severino double. Ty Springer drove in the Cyclones’ lone run after Tommy Lauterbach and Drew Ward singled in the third. Plains improves to 22-5 while SHG drops to 17-6. The Cyclones are on the radio twice more in the next days, Sportsradio1450 will be broadcasting Jacksonville at SHG on Tuesday and Glenwood at SHG on Wednesday. Plains is scheduled to travel to Routt on Friday.
