Today's temperatures were lovely, climbing into the 60s for only the third time this month. A shake-up in our weather pattern is arriving overnight as a cold front will push through tonight. This front won't return chilly air for Monday, rather, the chance of thunderstorms.
A line of thunderstorms are expected to develop along I-44 after midnight tonight. This diagonal line from Joplin to roughly Rolla will quickly push southeast across the Ozarks.
Rain totals will be light for people north of I-44. While totals south of the interstate can exceed 1". Additionally, flash flooding, quarter-sized hail, and wind damage will all be possible tonight.
Rain will not last for long. By lunchtime tomorrow, the skies will begin to clear out. Monday will have a very similar feel to what we just experienced Saturday. Soggy to start to the day. Sunshine and temperatures in the 50s to end it.
Mild weather and calm conditions will stick around for Tuesday. Another cold front will push through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This front will succeed in bringing cold, December air back into our region.
Highs on Wednesday will only peak in the 40s. Additionally, as the front pushes through it will offer up another chance for thunderstorms to form early on Wednesday morning.
Kids I have bad news for you. If you are hoping for a snow day, it sadly won't be happening this week!
