It was a cold day yesterday to get things started this week. A stiff northwest breeze kept things feeling like freezing in the afternoon!
Today, however, will be a little better and Wednesday will be better still. You can thank abundant sunshine and a return to a southerly breeze beginning today.
Tonight won't be as cold as Monday night, but some areas will still experience a light freeze. Wednesday will be much warmer. Look for a bright and breezy day with afternoon highs well into the 50s. In fact, 60° is within reach in our more southwest communities.
Enjoy the milder weather Wednesday because another cold front Wednesday night will unleash some arctic air into the state. Highs will struggle to warm above freezing on Thursday despite sunny skies.
The week will end with a frigid feel in the morning but will come with the promise of warmer weather over the weekend as winds again pick up out of the southwest.
The warming trend will come to an end on Monday with the passage of the next cold front. Chances for rain are slim to none over the next 7 days. The best chance will likely be with Monday's front, but the latest data is undecisive on if the Ozarks or somewhere else will find rain with it.
