ST. LOUIS - Two men were shot during an attempted drug deal that turned violent Thursday evening in St. Louis, police say. The victims ran to a nearby casino for help moments later.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports the two men were shot around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Cass Avenue in St. Louis' North Riverfront neighborhood.
According to a SLMPD crime summary report, the two wounded victims and two others showed up to Horseshoe Casino's parking lot around 5:45 p.m.
Investigators say two men, ages 30 and 40, were wounded. They were accompanied by two others: a third man and a woman, who arrived in a vehicle with apparent ballistic damage.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate all four were involved in the attempted purchase of drugs on Cass Avenue when suspects pulled out firearms and began firing shots.
The two wounded victims were sent to a hospital for treatment and are now in stable condition. No suspect information is available at this time.
