Two Peoria men arrested for alleged shooting in Alton

ALTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- Two Peoria men were among three people arrested in connection to a November shooting in Alton.

Chris Bock, 26, and Diondray Carpenter, 26, both of Peoria along with William Brown, 42, of Alton were arrested Friday, in connection with a triple shooting, Detective Sgt. Pierson of the Alton Police Department said.

Carpenter and Brown are still being held in Madison County Jail, but the jail said they do not have records of Bock being in custody.

The shooting took place at the 1000 block of Tremont Street in Alton at 11:42 p.m. on Nov. 15. Upon arrival, officers found three gunshot victims, who were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Pierson said.

He said the victims had left the house prior to the arrival of officers, and it is believed this was a targeted attack

After an investigation, they identified the three suspects by using an "array" of surveillance systems, and with help from the Peoria Police Department were able to apprehend Bock and Carpenter, he said.

Pierson said the three men were arrested on charges of home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Alton is a city of 25,000 people located in Madison County. It is located along the Mississippi River about 18 miles north of St. Louis.
