CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. — Authorities are investigating a house fire in Crawford County that claimed the life of a woman early Saturday morning.
The fire was reported around 7:12 a.m., at 389 South 190th Street. First responders said they found a deceased woman inside.
The victim's remains were sent to Kansas City for an autopsy. Officials are withholding her name until a positive identification is made.
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office is working to determine the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. Responding agencies included Arma Fire, District 3 and 4 Fire, Baker Fire, Crawford County EMS, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
