CARTHAGE, Mo. — An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run crash in Carthage that seriously injured a juvenile.
On Wednesday, Miguel Gaspar-Diaz, 43, was taken into custody in Joplin by multiple law enforcement agencies.
The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. on November 30, near Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
Authorities say a juvenile male on a moped was struck by a vehicle and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
No update has been provided on the juvenile's condition.
Law enforcement located the vehicle and Gaspar-Diaz in Joplin on Wednesday.
Gaspar-Diaz faces several charges, including leaving the scene of a crash and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution.
He's currently in the Jasper County Jail without bond.
