BRANSON, Mo. — A post about Branson having a "serial killer on the run" has made its run on social media, but Branson Police say this is fake news.
The post in question, which can be seen below, details a warning to the public that a man is going around knocking on people's doors and attacking people:
On the Branson Police Facebook page, the post states that the social media post is "FAKE and completely unfounded."
"No such incidents or individuals described have been reported to the Branson Police Department," said the post.
Branson Police said spreading unverified or misleading information causes unnecessary fear and encourages everyone to rely on official sources for accurate updates regarding public safety.
