Celebrating 100 Years
Resurrecting a 100-year-old newspaper is no easy task..
With the internet the way it is today people have forgotten the old ways.
Springfield Daily News was founded in 1929 on commercial Street by Gannet Publishing.
Even though it has been forgotten, it is still one of the landmarks of the great City of Springfield.
In 4 years on July 4th 2029 we will be celebrating our 100th year anniversary.
Springfield Daily News went under in 1975 when the company was crippled by the economic collapse of that era.
On January 2019 Springfield Daily News was resurrected by John Freeman with the hopes to start a citicen run and contributed newspaper.
Working with university students and public schools to play their part in the exciting world of journalism.
Teaching high school students the ins and outs of the publishing world.
Working with local universities to build stronger community engagement.
