Crash between two trucks kills woman in Boone County, Arkansas

BOONE COUNTY, Ark. -- A woman from St. Joe's, Arkansas, was killed in an accident between two pickup trucks east of Harrison on Monday, May 5.

Arkansas State Police (ASP) says the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 62 near Sharp Court between a westbound 1996 Toyota Tacoma and an eastbound 2014 Dodge Ram.

According to ASP's crash report, the Toyota crossed into the opposite lane of the road and struck the front of the Dodge Ram.

The Dodge Ram then traveled off the north side of the road and went down an embankment before coming to a rest. The Toyota landed between the westbound and eastbound lanes.

One of the victims in the crash, 53-year-old Gianella Edelen, was pronounced dead from the crash. The next of kin have been notified of her passing.

ASP did not report any other injuries in the accident.
