FBI offers $15K reward in case of Maine teen missing since September

(NewsNation) — The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the return of a Maine teenager missing for more than two months, or the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance.

Stefanie Damron, 14, was reported missing on Sept. 24, 2024, and was last seen walking out of her house and into the woods in New Sweden, Maine.

Christopher and Lisa Marie Damron, Stefanie's parents, said in an October statement that she argued with her sister before she left.

The family had moved to Maine from Texas in 2020, and a relative reportedly said Stefanie had tried to run away before but had been found by her family in the woods.

Stefanie was homeschooled and had limited access to social media, according to the FBI.

Police recently released new photos of Stefanie in hopes of someone coming forward.

People in the area have organized searches with no results, according to local reporting. Authorities have expanded the search for Stefanie nationwide and into Canada.

Stefanie is described as a white female with green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair, standing 5 feet tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved blue shirt and black Harley Davidson hiking boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maine State Police Houlton Barracks at 1-800-824-2261 or 207-532-5400, or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tips can also be submitted online to the FBI.
