Man charged after turning himself in to police in father's death
A man is charged with first-degree murder Thursday after turning himself in for his father's murder to police.
MANCHESTER, Mo. - A man is charged with first-degree murder Thursday after turning himself in for his father's murder to police.
According to the Manchester Police Department, 41-year-old Jeffrey Goedde walked into the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office around 12:30 p.m. and told officials he committed a crime, adding that his father was unconscious and bleeding on the kitchen floor.
Immediately, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office contacted the Manchester Police after determining an address along Baxter Heights Court.
Officers in Manchester responded to the residence where they located 75-year-old Edward Goedde Jr., who was already deceased. According to a release, Edward suffered from multiple puncture wounds from an edged weapon.
Jeffrey was taken into custody by Manchester detectives and transported to the St. Louis County Jail.
The 41-year-old is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He has been denied bond.
