MADISON COUNTY, Ill. - The Mississippi Valley Christian School is set to close after separating from Faith Baptist Church. The institution is now asking for donations to help get through the remainder of the school year and to open another Christian school under new leadership.
The Mississippi Valley Christian School separates from Faith Baptist Church after serving as the church's ministry for 50 years. In hopes of relaunching the school on the same campus, the school created a new non-profit organization under new leadership.
Under the new proposed initiative, the school is set to be led by Tim Lee and a board of directors that will provide Christian education to students from Alton, Godfrey, Jerseyville, Brighton, and more area communities.
Following the separation, though, the school now faces financial challenges as the rest of the remaining school year is unfunded and the school is unable to create a sustainable business plan for year-to-year operations of the new initiative.
The Mississippi Valley Christian School is asking for help from the public to help execute the relaunch of the school. To donate to the Mississippi Valley Christian School, visit mvcs-il.org/donate/
