Monett man faces several sexual abuse charges

BARRY COUNTY, Mo. — A Barry County man has been charged following multiple reports of sexual abuse.

According to online court dockets, Jason Sikes, born 1976, of Monett, has been charged with two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy; one count of second-degree statutory sodomy; one count of second-degree statutory rape; one count of second-degree child molestation; one count of third-degree child molestation with a child less than 14; three counts of incest; and one count of attempt to furnish pornographic material to a minor.
The probable cause statement says that a Barry County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to a report of past sexual assault on Tuesday, July 22, involving multiple victims.
Law enforcement interviewed a victim on Friday, August 1, who disclosed several incidents of sexual abuse by Sikes. The victim told the deputy of multiple sexual misconduct between the ages of 11 to 14.
A Barry County Sheriff's Office social media post says that the incidents occurred between 2012 to 2020.
Sikes is currently in Barry County Jail with no bond. He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing on Sept. 11, 2025.
