BOLIVAR, Mo. — An airplane has been destroyed following a fire in Bolivar on Monday, July 28.
According to a Bolivar City Fire Department social media post, crews responded to a report of a fire at Bolivar Municipal Airport around 6:10 p.m. on Monday.
The fire department says they extinguished a Cessna 182 airplane that caught on fire due to a backfiring engine.
The plane was sitting outside the airport's hangar when the fire began on Monday evening.
The post says that no one was injured during the time of the fire.
The Central Polk County Fire Protection District and the Bolivar Police Department aided the fire department during the incident.
