NIXA, Mo. — The Nixa Fire Protection District says four rescue technicians were able to get a person to safety Sunday night.
A social media post on the district's Facebook page says Nixa Fire Battalion 21, Engine 22, and Rescue 25 were called for a rescue at Shelvin Rock River access for a person in the water with an extensive leg injury.
The district says one tech swam to the injured person to begin providing care, while the remaining three technicians continued to bring the boat across the water, before bringing the injured person to Christian County EMTs.
The post says the image of the person rescued was purposely blurred for privacy.
