PITTSBURG, Kan. — A Pittsburg ministry helps provide for families in need this Christmas season.
A total of 450 Crawford County families are taking part in Wesley House’s Christmas Distribution this year. Each family received a $40 voucher to Ron’s Supermarket in Pittsburg to purchase meat, a box with $100 worth of canned goods and other groceries, and a bag full of toiletries.

Today’s distribution took place from nine to four at the Pittsburg facility. The goal is to help provide necessities and a little cheer for the holidays.
"But it’s a wonderful feeling. I mean, you’re doing something good for humanity. And I really enjoy seeing all these people—the smiles on their faces and the thanks that they give to Wesley House," said Ken Webb, Santa Claus.
Families who weren’t scheduled for today will receive their distributions tomorrow starting at nine in the morning. They have until December twenty-seventh to redeem the vouchers, which are also tax-exempt.
