Rockaway Beach man indicted for receiving child pornography

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A federal grand jury has indicted a registered sex offender from Rockaway Beach for allegedly possessing child pornography on Tuesday.
The indictment accuses 51-year-old Roy Dean Faux of receiving child pornography from July 2023 to May 2024. Faux was previously convicted on two felony counts for attempting to entice a child under the age of 15.
If convicted, Faux faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison. Faux may also be forced to give up two cell phones and a computer tablet because of a forfeiture allegation in the indictment.
This case was investigated by the Taney County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security Investigations and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force.
