SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police officers are looking into a hit-and-run that happened in north Springfield Wednesday evening.
Police say the crash happened near the intersection of West Kearney Street and North Broadway Avenue, where an SUV heading east on Kearney looking to go north when it was struck by a red car traveling west at a red light.
The suspect in the red car fled south on foot from the scene and their current location is unknown at the time of writing. A person in the SUV was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
SPD says alcohol might have been a factor in the incident.
