Strafford seeing a busy construction season

STRAFFORD, Mo - Drivers on I-44 are noticing a bit of a construction boom going on. Several projects are taking shape in town this season.

One of the largest work sites is the new Premier Truck Group center on Evergreen Street. The company tells us the site, located on the town’s east side, will include a dealership lot, sales center, and repair shops. The project is set to be done sometime in the middle of next year.

Travelers are also noticing major work taking place on Route 125 at I-44.  The intersection is being rebuilt, with the traffic signals being replaced by a double “dogbone” roundabout.  MoDOT has not announced an exact timeline for completing the $6.2-million project.

Meanwhile, we spoke with Mayor Sandy Strecker about additional growth for the town’s residential sector.  Strecker told Ozarks First that a brand-new subdivision is being built on the south side of town. Infrastructure is currently being constructed in preparation for the new homes.
