WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Big E has announced that The Avett Brothers will be performing at the Big E Arena in September.

The Avett Brothers are four-time Grammy Award nominees and are legends of Folk Rock, Music Hall of Famers, and North Carolina kings, according to The Big E. The band made their first label debut in 2009, I And I Love You. Then in 2012, The Carpenter hit number four on the Billboard 200, which was then followed by Magpie and the Dandelion in 2013, when it went to the number five spot on the Billboard 200.

May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers, a 2017 documentary, chronicles the process of writing 2016’s True Sadness, which debuted at the number one spot on Billboard’s Top Albums, number one on Rock Albums, number three on the Billboard 200 and scored two Grammy nominations. The film was released theatrically and on HBO. It is also available on DVD, Blu-Ray and Video on Demand (VOD).

The band released their tenth studio album in 2019, Closer Than Together, featuring the single “High Steppin’,” which reached number one on the Americana Radio Singles Chart. The Third Gleam came out during the pandemic and debuted at number one on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums, number one on Rock Albums, number one on Vinyl Albums and the single “Victory” hit number one on the Americana Radio Singles Chart.

The Avett Brothers, an album that is as untitled as it is self-titled, was released in 2024 and holds a collection of songs that revealed themselves over time. The band has been inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and have earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.

The band is set to perform at The Big E Arena on Saturday, September 20th. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10:00 a.m. Tickets include admission to the Big E Fair when purchased in advance of the show date.
