Historic preservation grants awarded to these Mass. organizations

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Fifteen organizations in Massachusetts received $125,000 in grant funds to preserve historic and cultural buildings across the state, including several in western Massachusetts.
The 1772 Foundation partnered with several non-profit organizations, including Preservation Massachusetts, to administer 1:1 matching grants of up to $10,000 toward various projects throughout the Commonwealth. The awards were granted based on recommendations by Preservation Massachusetts to projects that would promote historic preservation in the state.
“The 2025 initial inquiry phase saw over $600,000 requested, highlighting the critical need for preservation funding to restore and maintain our Commonwealth’s historic buildings," said Jessica Rudden-Dube, President and Executive Director of Preservation Massachusetts. "The work done by organizations that support our historic resources ensures that the stories embedded in our built landscapes and communities live on so that we may continue to learn from them, and our past is not forgotten.”
