The heat set to subside, but rain chances remain stingy

After a brief cool front, the area will experience warm and quiet weather through the weekend, with a chance of pop-up showers or thunderstorms on Saturday, followed by mild air and cooler temperatures next week.

The heat set to subside, but rain chances remain stingy

We did it again, we hit 90°, and that's after Tuesday night's cool front. There are a few more of these to get through before an extended period fallish weather.

Despite the ongoing heat, it's definitely a better version of heat than what we started the week off with.

We'll cruise through Friday and into the weekend with warm and quiet weather.

The atmosphere isn't offering up much help with rain, but Saturday's cool front will bring some moisture with it. It won't be a drought buster, but it's something. If you have some outdoor activities planned, just keep an eye on the sky for a pop-up shower or thunderstorm.

The front will sweep to the south by Sunday, ushering in some early fall air. It will come on slowly at first, with another warm day expected on Sunday.

Mild air will flood the region by next week, and will have you thinking it's almost "fall y'all". Temperatures will run about 10° cooler than normal, closer to what you would expect by late September.

The question is, will we see rain? The weekend cool front will stall to the south, setting up a wet weather corridor from Colorado to Arkansas. Cool, dry Canadian air will continue to blow into the Ozarks, setting up a fight that may keep most of the rain just south of the Ozarks.

Rain chances will be weighted to the south, falling off, especially north of the state line. This may be rain-miss for a lot of our area, but at least we won't miss out on the mild weather.
