Three arrested after carjacking at Dutchtown gas station; fleeing police
Three men were arrested in connection with stealing a Cadillac from a victim at a Dutchtown gas station and fleeing police.
ST. LOUIS - Three men were arrested in connection with stealing a Cadillac from a victim at a Dutchtown gas station and fleeing police.
According to SLMPD, 32, 34, and 40-year-old men were arrested after carjacking a Cadillac Escalade from a 47-year-old man while parked at a gas pump at the Conoco gas station in the 4300 block of S. Broadway.
Reportedly, the 47-year-old victim and a female acquaintance went to the gas station after she asked him for a ride to Conoco around 5:30 a.m.
After making a purchase inside the gas station, the victim returned to his vehicle, and two of the suspects approached him with firearms while demanding his keys.
After the victim gave his keys to the suspects, they fled in the Cadillac with the female still inside.
Later that afternoon, around 1 p.m., the man's Cadillac was loacted on South Grand at Arsenal, and officers began pulling behind the stolen vehicle when it took off speeding.
Police pursued the vehicle until the Cadillac struck another vehicle and multiple sidewalk curbs before it was no longer drivable. While in the 3100 block of Chippewa, three men and the female excited the vehicle and ran on foot.
Police continued to pursue them on foot and took the three men in custody, but the female got away.
SLMPD said narcotics and two firearms were seized after the arrest.
