Three Mile Bridge in Ware to close Monday night

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) - A portion of Route 23 (Palmer Road) in Ware will be closed Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

The $11 million MassDOT replacement project of the Three Mile Bridge includes widening the bridge and the roadway and accommodating pedestrians with sidewalks on both sides of the bridge. Improvements to the intersection of Palmer Road and Old Belchertown Road are also being conducted.

The Ware Police Department notified drivers on social media that the Three Mile Bridge on Palmer Road at Old Belchertown Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday. To reduce the flow of traffic coming into Ware, detours are posted at Rondeau's Dairy Bar.

Police say the intersection at Palmer Road and Old Belchertown Road will also be completely shut down. Drivers are being asked to use Emery Street to connect to Route 9.
