TOPEKA (KSNT) - Anglers looking to participate in Kansas' special trout fishing season won't have to go far to find a lake stocked with the fish.
27 News checked with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) to find out which lakes and reservoirs received trout for the 2024-2025 trout fishing season. More than 30 bodies of water across the state are listed on the KDWP's website as participating in the trout program with fish coming from the state agency or from local community stockings.
KDWP officials will be stocking many lakes and reservoirs more than once for the current season. However, some haven't received stockings of trout yet or won't be receiving any for the current season due to various complications. Which lakes have received stockings, along with the total they are to receive for the 2024-2025 season, can be found below.
Northeast Kansas
